Pueblo County provides a full range of services to our citizen’s and the community. County employees are a diverse group of individuals who believe their family, community, and traditions matter most. Located just 2 hours south of the State Capital, Pueblo is a big city with a small-town feel. Pueblo is home to the Colorado State Fair, Lake Pueblo State Park, Riverwalk, the famous Pueblo Chili, and one of the longest football rivalries west of the Mississippi River.
Pueblo is affectionally known as "Home of Heroes". Since 1953 when President Eisenhower said "What is it...something in the water out there in Pueblo? All you guys turn out to be heroes!" when presenting Raymond "Jerry" Murphy with his Congressional Medal of Honor. In 1993 Colorado Rep Scott McInnis cited Pueblo to be the only city at that time to have four living recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor from the same hometown. These are only a few reasons that make Pueblo a desirable place to live. Make it your home too.
